For some people, interior design is synonymous to big amounts of money. Of course, you need money.. but there’s always ways to keep it cheap. Interior design is a game of mixing and matching. Not all your materials need to be expensive, some of them can even be free. Interior design allows people to be as creative as possible. More than its price tags, it is the coming together of all materials that matters.

When I was younger, my family and I used to go around town and check out model houses during weekends. Not that we were planning to buy a house or anything, it was kind of just our thing- our family bonding activity. As weird an activity as it may seem, I personally had fun with it because I always looked forward to seeing how different Philippine architects played around with the insides of these models houses.

That I guess started my interest in interior design. Its ability to take you to a special place or move you or identify you fascinates me. It made me realize how much effect it could have towards a person.

Psychology will tell you that environment can bring about certain behaviors and emotions; and interior design is not an exemption. Darker color palettes may bring about stronger emotions from you than that of a lighter one. Wood carved bulky furniture may lead you to acting more trim and proper than usual . The dominance of glass may make you feel more vulnerable at times and themes may make you feel more playful or lively.

Needless to say, you can be your own artist when planning your interior and sky is the limit for your design. Take your time, ask around, look through different Philippine interior design models, and create a masterpiece out of the things you love. Because positive outlook in life starts with being comfortable with the things you have.
