If you’re going to the Fringe Festival, be sure to check out Blackmail, Murder and Other Ways to Say I Love You by Potluck Productions on July 22, 24, 26 & 28 at the Unicorn Theatre. The one-hour show features three funny, bold and sometimes frightening mini-dramas about what we do for love.

About the Plays: Love hurts. Music Tells us so, literature tells us so, and playwrights Glendora Davis, Mary Beth Gordon and Lezlie Revelle will show you the little ways we hurt, torture and sometimes kill to get what we desire. Lezlie Revelle and Joyce Slater direct.

• In Photo Synthesis by Glendora Davis, while Mark is remodeling an old home his family had long ago abandoned, he finds a tattered photo of his great grandparents…and another woman who seems to flash mysteriously in and out of the scene. Is it a clever photography trick or an ominous warning about the past of the house that will haunt Mark and his pregnant wife?

• What do you do when the one you love forsakes you? “Get even,” according to Love and Animosity by Mary Beth Gordon. Set in a Museum of Revenge, victims of love gone bad tell the stories of their heartbreak and exhibit their tools of revenge – each representing something outrageous or hysterically funny they have done to punish the offending loved one.

• Although Lucy has been dating a string of eligible men, she has yet to find the perfect mate in Coffee, Tea or Me by Lezlie Revelle. There’s always something wrong with each man, and her best friend insists Lucy is blind when it comes to choosing “the right one.” Tonight, Lucy has arranged a date with a man who seems to fit all her criteria. The anticipated evening of romance turns out to be a harrowing experience that neither Lucy nor her new suitor is prepared for.
